Key Topics in Youth Sports

There is so much involved in youth sports, but there are a handful of topics that tend to take up the majority of conversations.  We strive to arm you with information and curiosity to help you to make those conversations as productive as possible.

Winning

Is winning good?  Is it bad?  Does it even matter?  The answer is yes, no, maybe and it depends, to all of these questions.  What is so wonderful about winning is that it gives us all an easily measurable and initial frame of reference from which to focus on youth development.  In these articles we discuss winning, losing and why it all matters so that you can decide how to use it in your youth sports experiences.

Multiple Sports

Specialization is a huge topic in youth sports these days.  When today's parents were kids, everyone played multiple sports.  3-sport varsity athletes was a common thing.  Today...not so much.  Is that good?  Bad?  Does it matter?  The answer probably depends on the age and the kid.  The real question to understand is why multiple sports or a single sport is right for a child.  To that end, we will provide articles that help each parent in each situation make this decision based on what is best for their goals for their children.  The good news is that all of the youth development opportunities can be achieved in a single sport or multi-sport experience.
